For over fifty years the Capstone Project at Antioch College has been a culminating activity for graduating seniors. It gives students an opportunity to explore, in-depth, a topic of interest to them. For students, capstone projects serve as evidence of your mastery of a topic, and is often used in portfolios for employment or for graduate school applications. For faculty, capstone projects help to expand scholarly endeavors and contribute new knowledge to the world, and to train the next generation of teachers, researchers, and practitioners.
Antioch prepares students to live lives of intention. Students have agency to design their education, to own that education, to govern their college, to collaborate with their faculty, and extend their classroom learning into the real world.
